8:16 a.m. Well, speak of the devil. I just received a call from the CEO. Apparently, he was calling to see how things are going. He told me to have a few drinks on him when I'm in Puerto Rico. Huh. A few drinks? What an odd reason to call me.
I sit back and consider this new twist. CEO has only called me once and that was for a conference call about a rape investigation I was assigned. He's either trying to keep me quiet about the email or he's hitting on me.

My bet is that he realized his mistake but doesn't want to call attention to it by mentioning it. So, just use the temporary good will!
Or he's reading your blog! Did you see the article about corporate reading employees' blogs? Heads have rolled. If yours is a publicly-owned company, maybe since you outed him, he's trying to keep it on the QT so his head stays attached.

See Polly, I told you it would be good for leverage! You're already getting free drinks and re-avaluated travel requests! Coincidence? I think not! Take advantage while you can! I was working somewhere a while back and got some leverage on the company that scared them and I got a phone call (on the Q.T.) from someone on the Board of Directors who told me, "Make a Wish List and everything you need for your people will be yours!" I was the Director of a program with 9 employees! And I did and it was!!! We all got large screen monitors, new computers, etc.!

I think you should confront your boss about it and record your conversation. If you don't, this thing could grow like Kudzoo. If you don't know what that is, just ask a southerner:)
The problem with having dirt on your boss is "THEY DON'T LIKE THAT" and sometime, somewhere they could zap you (job wise).
If he ever catches you in a fubar that he could forgive or slam you for, it could get dicey.
